Latest event announcements

The Aroma Coffee & Chocolate Festival is pleased to announce previous MasterChef contestants Reece Hignell and Steph De Sousa as hosts of the Flavour Stage this year.

Reece appeared on Season 10 of MasterChef and is a quality cake baker who loves anything sweet, making him the perfect fit for Aroma. Following his season on television, Reece has run several pop up restaurants around the country, released a gelato line with Gelatissimo, undertaken some major brand connections and toured many food fairs. Reece lives in Newcastle and he holds cooking classes with The Essential Ingredient, Julie’s Place and ATWEA College. Reece is also working on releasing his own cake business where he hopes to cater for special events around the Hunter.

Steph was a participant on the most recent series of MasterChef and quickly became known for her warm, affectionate personality and her wholesome and flavoursome food. One of the highlights was a Vindaloo Curry she whipped up, which the judges claimed was the best they have ever had on the show. She is inspired by the likes of Maggie Beer and Rick Stein and in her spare time loves practicing yoga.

The MasterChef duo will be running demonstrations across the weekend on the Flavour Stage, with Steph hosting on the Saturday and Reece on the Sunday. Aroma will also feature an array of delectable chocolates, mouthwatering desserts and some of the best coffee produced by regional coffee roasters.

Maitland Aroma has also expanded its music program to four performance areas and will be hosting a range of acoustic styles, music and beats. Activities can be found for the young and old, with interactive coffee art, cork coaster making, a pop up library and more.

The Levee Shared Zone will also be a hive of activity and will feature vintage cars, ranging from Mustangs to MG’s.
